SRT’s J.R. Russell writes:

What a pleasure it was to participate today in the Thuraya US Forum at beautiful Nationals Stadium in Washington, DC!  SRT Wireless works closely with Thuraya, one of the world’s leading
Mobile Satellite Services (MSS) operators, to provide our cutting-edge technology platform, products and services to their millions of customers.

Thuraya’s goal was to broaden and deepen their relationships with US-based solution providers, end users, and partners.  And judging by the more than 50 key industry experts who attended, and the lively discussions that followed, the event was a big success.  Kudos to my friend and namesake, JR Francis, North America regional director for Thuraya, for putting it all together.

My job today was to familiarize attendees with two SRT products:  the VIPturbo, the first and only single-board solution for all services on the Thuraya network; and the IP Commander, Thuraya’s first ruggedized satellite broadband terminal with MIL-SPEC components, capable of handling mission-critical voice and data connectivity in the most extreme conditions. We were very pleased to show our products to attendees and receive several inquiries about possible business collaborations.

We were also interested to hear about Thuraya’s innovation roadmap and their commitment to the US market, which was reflected here by the attendance of almost their entire executive team, including CEO Samer Halawi; Chief Technology Officer Ahmed Shamsi; Chief Strategy Officer Jassem Nasser; CFO Heather Alberts; Vice President of Government Services Robert Demers; and Vice President of Innovation Randy Roberts.  Thuraya’s growing, US-based business development team was also out in force.

We are proud to be a key strategic partner of Thuraya as we work together to lead the evolution of the satellite communications market.
